Overdue update

Okay so I cheated and stopped updating after every time I recorded something. I've just put the finishing touches on an album consisting of sketches of songs I've written. By that I mean they're by no means finished pieces of music, but at least a general idea for all of them. The tracklist is this-

So that's the good news! The bad news is I think I'm going to sit on it for a while. There's a slight chance you'll hear some of it . . . but . . . slight is an overstatement.

I may take a break from recording for at least . . . oh . . . a week. We'll see.

See Saw

This morning I wrote and recorded a quick version of a new song called "See Saw". Try as I might, I can't seem to get myself away from my piano. The reason I'm excited about this one is that I included the words "dilly dally" in the lyrics. Very, very important stuff, lyrics that is.

I have a lot of songs on the agenda, but it's far too late to record more tonight. Of course I'll update whenever I get around to them.

Semi-productive

Tonight I recorded a guitar part for a folk song in Em (tentatively titled "Folk Song In Em") and a song on piano in C# (tentatively titled "C# Piano song"). My brain sputtered out and I couldn't write anything to go along with them. I will make sure to update on their status as they evolve.

Productive

7 AM - Recorded a quick version of "We'll Get There". It's an instrumental.

7 PM - Recorded a new version of an old song called "Almost Again". Brand new lyrics for most of it, and only about half of the music remains from the old version.

8 PM - Recorded an acoustic demo of "August Theme". Lot's of work needs to be done layering this one, but I've got a headache.

Gloves On

I haven't done too much recording lately, but now that I've regained all the time in the world, I used the opportunity to lay down a new demo tonight. It's called "Gloves On" and is piano based. I like it enough to keep working on it; Only piano and vocals made it onto the demo tonight, seeing as I got kind of tired.

I have so many songs to record that it's difficult to know where to start.

Tomorrow if I get a chance I'm gonna record "August Theme", it's another new one that's kind of folksy. There's some pretty falsetto stuff on there. We'll see if that gets accomplished.

We searched our climate for clues!

Last night I recorded a sloppy version of a new song called "A Button On a Pea Coat". I woke up in the middle of the night . . . which in my case is around 6:30 AM . . . went to the sink, threw some water on my face, and accidentally wrote the song. Cool.

FIRST BLOG ENTRY

Hi!

I've decided to start keeping an account of my musical goings on. This is that account. Welcome!

If you're here you probably know at least a little bit about me, so not much on this blog will be overly autobiographical. Instead I'm just going to keep track of everything I do to get ready for my OFFICIAL solo debut. I say official because I've given out a whole bunch of Free-Ps already, and I'm not counting them. Speaking of which, if you want the latest Free-P (Hello Demo) let me know and I'll get you one.

Tonight I recorded a rough demo of "I'm Gonna Go", a song about . . . going. I stopped at about 3 am cause that's the time I tend to get an overload of ideas and ruin EVERYTHING. I also worked on an ongoing demo I've been tinkering with called "Sunlight". I think I've done about all I can for that one - it may be time to either leave it for a little while or record it in a different mode for fun.
